About Me

Not accepting guests through the 20th Jan (summer vacation and moving nearby)

CURRENT MISSION

vivir pa'lante + travailler pour vivre + peace/purpose/progress
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\collectively//////////////////////

Give away my personal power; partake of diverse narratives - hold space for their narrators; sing the harmony of the most marginalized's majesty to serve the collective good.

ABOUT ME

I love exploring, whether it be places, ideas, new games, people, books, movies, art, music... anything. Especially music though, I am a player, listener, and dancer. Biking, hiking, and nature with its never-ending sources of wonder and amusement are huge parts of my life. I find people fascinating and take great joy in interacting with all of them- I believe I can find something to relate to in everyone I meet, and can find something we both enjoy.

QUOTES

"The most difficult of virtues yet most important to accomplish is our sense of belonging, to know our place and contribution to creation" —Tūhoe elder, Tamati Krueger

"The more generous we are, the more joyous we become. The more cooperative we are, the more valuable we become. The more enthusiastic we are, the more productive we become. The more serving we are, the more prosperous we become." —William Arthur Ward

"Doing needed work and doing it well - this durable joy is perhaps the deepest source of human affection and of sociability as a whole." —Ursula K. Le Guin

“Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” —Coach John Wooden

"At the root of all power and motion, there is music and rhythm, the play of patterned frequencies against the matrix of time. We know that every particle in the physical universe takes its characteristics from the pitch and pattern and overtones of its particular frequencies, its singing. Before we make music, music makes us." —Joachim-Ernst Berendt, The World is Sound

"Those who lack the courage will always find a philosophy to justify it" —Albert Camus

"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance" —Alan Watts

"Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes." —Walt Whitman

"To be born is to be chosen. You have a task of creativity to realize here that no one else can accomplish. If someone else could bring this to birth, they would be in your place and you would never have been sent here" —John O'Donohue

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

No longer new to couchsurfing, though it always feels new! I'm excited to participate in such an intentional community that is committed to broadening our perspectives and experiences. I hope to host and travel and thus share and learn with other dynamic folks!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lots of hosting, lots of crashing; in addition to what you see here I've lived in a housing co-op called Lothlorien that hosted more than 20 travelers and started another housing co-op called No Limit Inclusive which hosted another 20, from sane to insane, in my time there for various lengths of time. It was awesome to then correspond with some of them months later from wherever they voyaged.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The transformational 2-week occupation of the capitol of Madison, where tens of thousands stepped up and refused to allow dirty politics to ignore the sacrifice of hard-working peoples lives to benefit the corporate minority. A truly free community, like none I have other seen was formed inside- from free daycare, to medical attention, to a free food table. Horizontal, multicultural, intergenerational decision-making was open for all to partipate and (self-)empower.
It demonstrated that brighter worlds are possible in the midst of the wreckage.
