ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Cooper Hart, I'm a 21 year-old, female college student. I study Theatre at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, but from February 2012 to July, I was in Anhui province in China, studying Chinese at Huangshan University and traveling whenever I could.

I really loved it in China, and I think that Chinese people are very friendly; I cannot wait to go back again. I am kind of an awkward person, I'm naturally a shy person, but I always try to get past that and can be friendly most of the time. I like to think I'm a nice person, I try to be as nice as possible, and it's not easy to make me angry. Aside from that, I'm just a person who loves having fun who loves meeting interesting people, hanging out with them, and getting to know more about their lives and what they think.

I speak English, but I have been studying Chinese for the last few months. I'll try to use Mandarin, but I may have to use English. I also don't mind speaking English if you'd like someone to practice with. :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the next year, I will be living in the dorms at my school, Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. It will be a little difficult to to any hosting, but I would really like to help anyone who will be in the area, or just hang out.

Interests

I love theatre. I'm a performance major at my college in the United States, so I've been studying all the different aspects of American and Western theatre for the last three years.I don't know very much about Chinese or Asian theatre right now, but I would love to learn.

I'm also really interested in music. I haven't studied them seriously since I began college, but I play guitar, violin, and piano. I like all sorts of music, and watching people perform. I like playing instruments the best, but I'll make no guarantees on the quality of the music I make. :)

Those are my two big ones, but I have a lot of differnt interests. I sort of feel like I'd like to know more about anything and everything. If you are passionate about something, even if I know nothing about it beforehand, I'll be interested in knowing more about it and what's your personal take on it. Chinese culture and language always interests me too, of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently climbed up Huangshan Mountain with a classmate. The top was okay, spectacular even; I think I will always remember the climb up as the amazing experience though. It was only about three hours, but the view seemed to become more and more incredible the further we went. We spent the longest amount of time on the last kilometer just because we stopped so often to watch the clouds roll through the valley beside us, coming up like gently like water on the ocean's shore, their edges
