About Me
Hi there :)
My name's Coop and I'm really bad at writing these, but here goes!
I'm currently 25, and living in England. For the past two years I have been helping run a charity shop, for refugees in Greece. The money raised in the shop, allowed us to set up a few projects in Athens, where I am regularly spending a lot of time.
Through these projects I have met many incredible people from all over the Arabic world and beyond, and I have really fallen in love with the language and the history and culture (I still suck at speaking the language, but getting there! I can just about read the alphabet now) ;)
Through doing these projects I now have a strong desire to experience these countries first hand, and the first stop on my way is Morocco in June. I plan to travel to Fes, and then to see what I want to do next :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing as I'm very interested in travelling in the Arabic world, and to get to know it's culture and people better. I believe that by staying in a hotel you're not able to truly get to know the real culture of a country, so my friend recommended I look at Couchsurfing.
I've been on the site for only an hour today and it looks great! It gives me the opportunity to meet real people, and experience the true Morocco, and also practice my Arabic at the same time :)

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite music is always changing, sometimes I like Blues and Jazz, and sometimes I listen to mellow hip hop like Wun Two, Onra etc.
I'm always coming across new music, so my taste always changes :) I like traditional music of many countries. I've been listening to a Kurdish guy called Omar Souleyman recently, he's pretty dope :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done many ;)
Haha, I'm kidding. Strange question! I'm not sure...
I guess what we did in Greece was pretty amazing. It was certainly an amazing experience for me personally. It sparked my desire to travel so much, and here I am :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach me Arabic :) maybe some of your cooking, and I will be forever grateful
