About Me
+++Quick note ahead+++
I'm receiving A LOT of requests here in Leipzig. Average 1 per day. If you send one, please make sure that it's maximum a few days before you're coming. I cannot plan couchsurfers in weeks or even a month in advance. Thanks for understanding.

I LOVE hosting people from all over the world and show them some of the area where I live if I've got the time. I have had so many lovely experiences with couchsurfers - both hosting and being hosted!
But NOTE: I don't accept you, if 1. you haven't written anything about yourself in your profile and don't show your face, and 2. when you don't tell me anything of your motivation in your request, why you wanna stay with me or why you wanna come to my area... Couchsurfing is about give-and-take - and I enjoy giving, so much! But I think, politeness and honesty start at your profile and request; that's the initial impression you give to your maybe-host. Think about it!
(I don't want to sound arrogant or so, but I've had some request that I found quite annoying and disrespectful. - Where is my motivation to host such people? So please!)
ABOUT ME
Hello everybody! I traveled a lot around the world and I had many amazing experiences concerning hospitality - many times without knowing the people before! So now as I am pretty settled for now, working in education, without having much time for traveling myself, at least I hope to welcome some of the world back home! :)
PHILOSOPHY
I think we should all spread kindness and happiness as much as possible and create memories and visions of a world in peace. Often only a smile is enough to cheer a person up! Someone in this world will definitely pay it back in some other way when we are in need - or even when we are not!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The world is full of beautiful people, we just have to meet them!! CouchSurfing is one of the best opportunities!
I wrote a bit about Couchsurfing in my book "Mit dem Zug in den Kaukasus".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled from Germany to Armenia and back by train.
I did a horse-trekking through the Armenian Highlands.
Many passionate music experiences, e.g. singing with a Maori, in the Maori language, in two voices; singing in the 'Cueva del Silencio' in Cuba; and spontaneous singing-get-togethers in public squares in Cuba together with friends and many random people, amateurs and professionals.
I listened to a talk of the Dalai Lama.
I flew like a bird.
I crossed the border from Uruguay to Brasil on a pink bicycle without breaks, which some random guy had lend me.
I fulfilled my dream of traveling South America, even though many people tried to talk me out of it.
I hiked more than double when I thought I couldn't get any further.
...
But most of all my travels have taught/reminded me finding happiness in simple, everyday life's things.
I love walking together, I love walking alone; I'm consciously growing with new experiences. That needs trying out other perspectives; observing this beautiful planet from above or below; observing it by trying out food, languages, songs or dances. And especially walk a little: with the poor with the rich; with those who traveled as far as the birds of passage and those strong, deep-rooted trees that only left home in stories and dreams; with those who believe in many gods or in none, or in other meaningful energies; with those who believe in themselves and those who struggle; with those who dress in feathers and pearls and those in fancy dressens and suits; with those whose spoken language I understand and those I understand in the light of their eyes, their smile, and their actions; with those who live in palace-like houses, those who call small huts their home and those who are permanent wanderers; those who catch my heart at first glance and those I fear.
Everyone has an impact. Keep a balance but be courageous, open and positive; it's worth it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hosting/Visiting strangers always means to practice trust and frankness - some of the most beautiful things to teach, to learn and to share!!
Some of my experiences and thoughts on this topic are part of my book that has just been published.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Always open for deep conversations about life, the problems of the world and positive visions, silly stuff, anything. Also: music, meals, ... Inspire me! :)
All Surfers get a nice dinner and breakfast at my place! :)
