Overview
About Me
You are welcome to stay at my apartment when I'm out of town, e.g. July 15-16, July 20-24, August 8-15, August 25-27, September 7-10 and September 22-24 2017. Contact me if you like a quiet and clean place in the heart of the city. Check out these great free maps: https://www.use-it.travel/cities/detail/dresden/ (get a printed version at my place)
CURRENT MISSION
What I enjoy about meeting new people, is listening to their stories. Especially I want to find out what people recognise as "normal" or part of their everyday lives. It's fascinating to me how everyone has different principles and understandings of their world. I like to be surprised with different world views!
ABOUT ME
I look colourful and probably stick out everywhere I go. This doesn't necessarily mean I'm a show off, it's just that I want to express myself, everywhere I go, I'm always honest, you can rely on this. When I'm happy, when the sun shines, when my life loves me, I can't help myself: I have to wear red jeans, yellow shoes and pink shirts! And if it should snow or rain some day or the fog is increasing: You'll probably recognize my laughter. It's loud, it's outstanding, it's lovley, just like me. By the way: I'm totaly of the opinion that I'm able to do everything as long as I really really want it!
PHILOSOPHY
The question is not if, but how I'm gonna do things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As an artist, I am travelling a lot. Mostly I travel to visit people I have met before - sometimes long time friends and other times new people I met at festivals or on one of my many trips. Sometimes spending more than ten days "at home" only occurs three times a year. Sometimes a trip to Prague is closer than a trip to Hamburg – so instead of staying with people I know in the North of Germany, I am looking for new friends close by. It's important to enjoy the connections one already has; yet building new ones is more exciting!
On the other hand, I am an excited host! The city I currently live in – Dresden – is a beautiful town. Despite the far-right-wing/racist movement that started here in 2014 #Pegida, I want to encourage people to come and visit this beautiful landscape with its baroque and contemporary culture!
You may have noticed that I only have two references on couchsurfing.com - that's because I am part of a huge network mostly based in the European and Pacific region. Monthly travelling and staying with friends or their friends - has been a given for me in a very long time now! Since I can usually "help my self" using facebook and group messaging, I mostly use couchsurfing.com for meeting new people in my current town or during travels to destinations I have never been to and thus no contacts to friendly hosts yet.
Interests
Sitting together with new strangers in my life, exchanging youtube-videos from our childhood popcultural memories. (Probably both of us know the early backstreetboys by heart).
I also enjoy cooking together with many people - but am rather skilled in fruit/vegetable/cheese situations that any of the German clichées one might think of.
Since I enjoyed playing games and theatre as a kid, I am a professional games instructor today! At any time I've got a good idea in my pocket - might it be for three or thirty people. I betcha!
