About Me
Hi all!
My name is Corbin and I grew up in Portland, Oregon. I'm a sound designer for theatre and film. That means I listen to a lot of music, watch a lot of theatre shows, and write music/design sound effects often.
I like to live at a slower pace than most. I like to go for walks in new areas, sit at a bar/pub and talk with friends, and play board games for hours among other things. I much prefer to see cities for the reasons that keep the locals living there. Tourist places are great every now and then - but what is the reason a city keeps on ticking? That is what interests me.
I'm a fairly easy-going person and can get along with most anybody. I'm excited to start down the road of couch surfing!
(I'll update as I get time!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like I said above, the idea of getting to know a city for what keeps the locals living there is wonderful. What better way to do that than to have a local as your guide? (Even if it simply means pointing out some exciting options for food or something).
Also - I love showing off the places I live. It's a wonderful feeling to show others the reasons you enjoy a city and see their faces light up. Or when they come back with their own stories about your city... There's nothing quite like sharing your city.
Interests
Music, art, food and people.
Really I love everything I can get my hands on. Music is an important part of my life. I think it was Friedrich Nietzsche who said, "Without music, life would be a mistake." I fully believe that music transcends culture and worlds. Those with an open mind will find that it resonates at an unbelievable level with everyone across the world. Anyway, enough of my ramblings...
