About Me

I'm Corbin. I swim every day, drink lots of coffee, and always sleep with the window open.

I like:
- cold weather and winter
- public transportation
- the smell of the street after it has started to rain
- learning new words
- card games, especially poker

I don't like:
- fromage d'abondance
- clutter
- sleeping more than 7 hours at a time

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I lived in Germany, I had incredibly positive Couchsurfing experiences. Now I get to hang out with interesting people from around the world and share Boston (the best city in the universe) with them! What could be better?

For surfers:
Before sending me a request, please read my preferences under "My Home." It seems that most of the requests I take are last-minute, but any time up to 3 weeks before your trip is fine. If your trip is more than a month away, I will probably ask you to re-send the request closer to the trip.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
My favorite book is Infinite Jest; I know people are super annoying about how good it is... but it's really good. My favorite authors are DFW, Faulkner, and Poe. These days, I mostly read non-fiction and I enjoy blogs like Slate Star Codex.

Movies:
I don't watch many movies, but I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for cold-war political thrillers and horror movies involving some type of giant, evil monster (shark, alligator, giant squid etc).

Music:
I listen to mostly classical music, trashy pop, and reggae.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Performed Beethoven's 3rd piano concerto with a professional orchestra; it was awesome! The most amazing thing I've seen is the gigantic Soviet War Memorial at Treptower Park in Berlin: totally breathtaking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Estonia, France, Germany, Italy

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, United States
