Canadian Passport. Been living in Merida, Yucatan for 7 years. I love meeting new people and seeing different perspectives. I've been moving to a more minimalistic lifestyle, collecting experiences rather than more things. I've travelled through a few countries so far....about 120 more that I'd like to see. My preferred mode of travel lately has been motorcycle touring. The next phase is travelling in my 62 year old vintage bus across Canada. I want to drive it to all three oceans on my incredible country's borders. Inenjoy golf, furniture design and woodworking, snowboarding, motorcycles, dark beer, red wine, smokey scotch, anything on a bbq, tacos, and cheese!!!!

Что привело меня на Couchsurfing

I still have a home in Merida but I'm trying to travel more and heard about couchsurfing from a friend that travelled for the last year and a half with a lot of great experiences. She said it is a great platform for meeting interesting people and getting local input on the areas she was in. I'm in and out of Merida, but when I'm home, if it looks like a fit, I'm happy to host. On the flip side of that, I'm planning to ride my motorcycle across Mexico from Merida to Cabo San Lucas, up Baja California, and up the coast of the US to Vancouver, Canada. It would be cool to spend a few nights with the couchsurfing community and see what the fuss is about.

Music: I like most genres of music except most Jazz and gangster rap. The piano is the best instrument ever invented.

Movies: I like comedies, dramas, action films. Really don't like horror movies. Best documentary to date is Baraka.

Books: The kite runner, The Lizard cage, Pillars of the Earth, and Terry Goodkind's Sword of truth series.

I saved an elderly couple from drowning when they slipped off the highway and flipped their car upside down into a pond. I also saved a bee from drowning in my pool once. I got stung for it. Now I let the bees drown. Stupid bees.

I've been in Merida for quite a while now. I can direct you to the best restaurants, hidden bars, cultural places, museums, cenotes, haciendas, beaches, and movie theatres. If you like cooking, I have a big kitchen and love entertaining.
