About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to find out more about the place I've decided to call home for the next 3 years, Penang, Malaysia, SE Asia. I want to experience everything this place has to offer, not just the usual tourist traps, with people who know it well.

ABOUT ME

I decided to log on to this site to start broadening my experiences. I've just moved to Penang and it's important to me that I don't spend my whole time here wrapped up in an expat bubble. I love meeting new people and finding out about their lives, why they've made the choices they've made, what led them to that point in their life. Maybe some people would call it nosy. :-) I want to be shown your favourite spot for eating this, or for watching the sunset or for having a glass of wine. Things that you might not find on your own.

Think I may have always had the travelling gene but never realised it. My mother's side of the family are pretty nomadic. I've been lucky enough to scuba dive all over the world, but only recently did I begin to live in different places. I've recently decided that I just need to face any fears head on and start by living in the most extreme place I could. In 2009 I moved to the Marshall Islands and lived on a tiny island with 200 people, with no electricity, no running water, no phones, no internet and no one who spoke English fluently. That experience has totally changed what I now believe about my own and other's capabilities. I would love to find out more about your travelling experiences. What are the things that will stay with you forever? Where should I go and teach next?

So here I am, facing fears head on and looking to share new, crazy experiences with other like minded individuals.

PHILOSOPHY

Be as honest as you possibly can. People may not like it but at least everyone knows where they stand. Love with all your heart and always seek out new experiences.
