About Me

I moved to New Mexico in 2008 to pursue a degree in counseling. Am currently working in Santa Fe in the field of mental health as a licensed therapist. Have experienced extended travels on-and-off or lived internationally about half the time (approx. 4 of the past 9 yrs) since moving to NM. I met the love of my life while traveling in Thailand in 2012. She is from the Netherlands, and we have been meeting for travel (in US, Europe, and 3 times in Thailand) ever since we met. I enjoy outdoor activities and sports like road biking, mt. biking and snowboarding at Ski Santa Fe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm living in a large house that has ample room to host. Thought that the timing was right to start a profile to host at this point, and then maybe utilize the site to request being hosted while in Europe this summer, 2017.

Music, Movies, and Books

In music I enjoy a variety of artists which inspires me to feel connected. Movies: the one's that bring some sort of emotional experience; most recently Captain Fantastic, The Eagle Huntress, La La Land and Lion. Books for me are usually non-fiction and geared towards learning about the human condition, spirituality, health and wellness and traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Internally: Tuning in to my intuition/ wise mind. Almost all of the time, I'm able to be self-accepting and accepting of what is. So, guess I've worked on, continually practice, and to a large part have succeeded at becoming self-secure and trusting. Life kind of flows very naturally for me these days; nothing seems forced or out of place.
Externally:Lived for 5 months while completing school internship (art/play therapy with local children) in a small village in the foothills of the Andes called Maras, Peru. Worked with several shaman in Andean cosmology ceremonies.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have always been following my interests in life..like to learn about the inspirations of others. And I like to learn about, and practice the things that inspire me. Sharing about that stuff is interesting to me when it happens naturally.

What I Can Share with Hosts

At this point, I'd be the host. Later this year, while traveling in Europe, I could share good company with healthy boundaries and mutual respect. I'm considerate and able to attune to the needs of others very well. So could share that which seems most helpful to share depending on the hosts needs. Could be joining the host in something they enjoy as an interest, or helping to cook a meal, or taking the host out for a meal or beverage of their choice, etc. I'm open to ideas.
