ABOUT ME

I'm a hiking, bouldering, banjo playing wine-er who just moved to Asheville, NC. I like the weather right before a big thunderstorm, cheese, my dog Halle Berry Hound and cart-wheeling. I listen to old time music, especially old-time blues, but love bluegrass, jazz, swing, indie folk and americana. I'm really outdoorsy and now certified in Wilderness First Aid, so you can feel really safe when I'm around (especially outdoors). I tell a lot of really cheesey jokes, so hope you don't mind.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have friends that couch surf and temporarily lived in house with a bunch of hippies and travelling kids. Also when living in Flagstaff, 2 guys from Alaska lived in my closets.

Interests

Too many to really name...bouldering, banjo (if no banjo avaiable then guitar, if no guitar available then mandolin, if no mandolin available then uke, if no uke the fiddle, etc.), singing, hiking, identifying trees, letter writing, waterfalls, smiling, heel-clicking, wine-ing and beer drinking, peanut butter, bird-watching, forestry, wildlife, cycling, moonshine, mountains, beards, warm sweaters, my sleeping bag....etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Worked in a movie store for 3 years, so I have many favorites. Books are also a weakness and favorites change on a daily basis, but manly love Confederacy of Dunces, Deep Survival, and Mules & Men. Currently reading Trout Fishing in America.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen baby olive ridley sea turtles emerge from their nests and go into the sea in Costa Rica. I preformed at a festival where David Grisman headlined. Played at same festival the next year and Del McCoury headlines. I hiked Half Dome in Yosemite and did field work on the northern rim of the Grand Canyon. Wouldn't mind finding a magic carpet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make a balloon animal. I like to learn new songs on my banjo/guitar/mandolin/uke/fiddle and about new bands I haven't heard before.
