About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning about the world and the people living in it, finding some inspiration on how to lead a life of value and enjoying it :)

ABOUT ME

I can be a bit shy in the beginning, but I'm open minded, quite uncomplicated, honest and love to laugh. The moments in life I enjoy the most are normally about getting to know people, sharing experiences, travelling, seeing new places, learning new stuff, teaching, helping whenever I can, laughing together, being kind to strangers, meeting strangers who are kind to me, ... The world really is an amazing place, sometimes at some places. I try to keep my eyes open for those moments :)

PEOPLE I LIKE

There are not a lot of people I don't like, maybe very superficial or selfish people, but normally I enjoy the company of very different kinds of people. The traits I value the most might be honesty, openness and respect towards people who are different, and kindness.

PHILOSOPHY

You don't always have to be one step ahead of the group to go a step in the right direction at the right time.
Happiness is inner peace - learn to find it in yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Probably the best trip of my life were the four weeks in Australia, during which I happened to meet some amazing people through car sharing, and helpX. I also always liked the idea of Couchsurfing, but was too shy to do it for a long time. In the summer of 2015 I finally made my first real Couchsurfing-experiences in Germany while staying in another town for a few weeks, and I just loved it. The people I met were so nice and welcoming, open and fascinating. Being able to help one of them out by arranging for her to stay at my brothers place made me very happy. Now I'm pretty excited about being part of this community and can't wait to travel some more, and also host as soon as I have the possibility.

Interests

Spending time with friends, having barbecues, sitting around a bonefire, bike trips, long conversations, laughing a lot, singing even if I'm not very good :D, dancing when I feel like it, ...

Enjoying the beauty of nature, staring at the night sky, watching the waves at a beach, ...

Travelling, seeing places, meeting people, getting to know different styles of living, learning about other attitutes and opinions

Meditation and yoga (not practicing as often as I would like to, but I'm very thankful for discovering mindfulness :) )

People with similar values, experiences and interests to me,
people with very different experiences and interests from mine,
people who have an interesting story to tell, which is in my experience basically everybody who is willing to share his or her thoughts with others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking part of the Abel Tasman Walk in New Zealand with a bunch of other exchange students, sitting in a hut without electricity and talking about their life in China and Hongkong.

Spontaniously joining two of the nicest guys I ever met on a camping tour to Fraser Island, Australia, for a week. Sleeping in a tent on the beach, eating fresh Mangoes, trying to surf and failing completely :D, talking about life and travelling, and nature conservation.

Travelling through Brazil with two friends of mine, meeting some nice other travellers, and getting to know the culture by making crazy and funny experiences :D

Going on a roadtrip through Italy with a friend of mine, sleeping in his car.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to help people with learning German,
and enjoy cooking together and exchanging recipies
