About Me

I'm a pretty simple gal who loves meeting new people and learning their stories, showing off her city, and passing on interesting information. I've dreamt of extensive travel for a really long time. My day will come. Until then I'm doing a little of this and some of that.

Unfortunately I cannot accept guests at this time, but that will change in the near future and then I plan to pay forward all the kindnesses of all the strangers who have helped me along my way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm excited to host and love the idea of learning the local culture of the places I'm travelling. Anyone can visit a city and learn its history. Only be connecting with people who live there can one get a sense of what that place is really about.

Plus, connecting with people is really what life is all about, isn't it?

Interests

I'm studying to be a midwife, so these days it's all about women and babies. I'm pretty interested in politics and power structures, feminism, and social justice too. And I just might be a communist. I'm not entirely sure yet. I like to talk these ideas out with people and hear all the different perspectives of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the kinds of music that get down into your soul and move you. Anyone can write a song that gets stuck in your head. It takes some real consciousness to write a song that gets stuck your whole life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At 23 I picked up and moved to China for a couple years. At 33 I decided to go back to school to pursue my passion. I wonder what I'll do at 43?
