À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Lots of changes recently - new husband, baby and job!
ABOUT ME
I really enjoying meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences and laughs.
I am happy to be back living and working in Raleigh, NC after being gone for six years. In March 2007, I quit my job, sold my house and hit the road for almost two years - it was a great decision and a great experience. On this trip I traveled extensively in SE Asia, Africa, Europe and India. I have previously explored North America and Peru. I worked for 2 years for Doctors without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontiers) in Africa, during which I learned a lot and met my husband in Uganda. Now the two of us and our son are in my home state - no backpacks in sight!
PHILOSOPHY
Positive things happen every day and all the time.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed couches in France, Poland and India, and met up with CSers in Hungary as well. I look forward to the day when I have a homelife situation that is conducive to hosting - in the meantime I enjoy my back-to-being-settled-down life and meeting like-minded travelers through CouchSurfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had many outstanding CouchSurfing experiences: meeting interesting and interested people, tearing it up at the fancy dance-y CS party in Delhi, many great walks-and-talks in Europe and India, learning from locals about local stuff, sharing with others my travel experiences. I am so happy that this organization (and movement) exists!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Sunrise at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda in Burma: a grueling two-day journey involving amazingly cramped conditions in buses and trucks culminated in a two hour uphill hike at midnight for me and my three Buddhist monk friends and traveling companions. All was worth it to see the sun rise and reflect off the miraculously-perched and gold-leafed rock that sits atop the holy pilgrimage site.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I have a few things I can teach: knitting, embroidery, basic computer stuff, English, the intricacies of North Carolina politics.
