About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See that? Over there in the distance? It's my next adventure.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently bartending and serving at a restaurant called Buca di Beppo. Not exactly glamorous, but it pays the bills. I'm a graduate of Ohio State University. I majored in political science and minored in Popular Culture.

My roommate and I are both passionate about traveling as well as hospitality to anyone who needs to crash for a couple of nights. We LOVE meeting new people and creating new connections. Right now we're planning a trip to the UK, and are excited to get to know anyone who has any knowledge about what to see and where to stay and all that good stuff.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is probably very similar to everyone else's on here. I live for the many brilliant moments that come with meeting as many people as possible, and discovering as many cultures as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the very least, we have a recliner to sleep in and some air mattresses for people to crash in. We both work a lot. But, if I have enough notice, I would LOVE to show people around Columbus and the surrounding area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've mostly just crashed at friends' places around the country. Nothing official, just people I've known. I'm looking forward to really diving into the larger community.

Interests

I'm interested in exploring abandoned buildings, hunting for kitsch, watching netflix, baking bread, reading comicbooks, and going out on the town.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll admit, I'm a bit of a music snob. I blame my brother. He majored in music with an emphasis on jazz- so a lot of my music taste comes from him. I love jazz, soul, funk, hip hop, alternative, singer/songwriter, indie, classic rock, bluegrass, classical, etc. My top 5 movies (in no particular order) as of right now are: The Dark Knight, Amelie, One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest, Scott Pilgrim versus the World, and Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind. Apparently if the film has a long title, I'll love it.Books- I love just about anything by Neil Gaiman. I also love the Harry Potter books, the Ender and Bean series, the Hunger Games triology, and many many different comicbooks. The book that speaks most to my soul is called Women Who Run with the Wolves. I used that book many times when I worked with at-risk teenaged girls in wilderness therapy. It's one of the most brilliant books I've ever read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a lot of amazing things. I think cliffclimbing in Italy was probably one of the more infinite moments in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to bake bread, to reach your fullest nerd potential, and which of the cheap wines are best to drink depending on your mood.I will share anything I have with you.I want to learn anything you have to teach.
