Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm living in Yunnan, China until atleast July 2015, and I will be travelling in the school holidays. I love to meet new people and there's no better way to see a new city than to ask someone who knows it where to go!

Interests

I am really into photography (my degree), and currently learning Chinese is a huge interest for me. I am studying every day and hope to be able to hold a good conversation by the time I leave for home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working at an American summer camp, I had a small, extremely shy South Korean girl with extreme culture shock in my cabin for 1 month who spoke no English. I worked with her to get her speaking bits of English and bought her some home comforts on my day off (the best of which was a teddy bear - every other girl had several + decorations and bedding from home but because she flew from South Korea she had nothing but the bedding camp gave her). It took perseverance and time, but she left a happy, confident girl who was basic conversational in English and gave me the biggest hug and cried on her last day.
