About Me
Hey there, I am Corinna. After moving around quite a bit, I have - for the moment - settled in Bremen, where I am doing my PhD on Degrowth & Feminism. Life is good here, much activism going on, a lot of alternative vibes and chilled evenings on the "Osterdeich" (riverside), when the sun is shining, which - admittedly - is not always the case up here in Northern Germany. I am passionate about travelling. After spending a year in Latin America in 2010 I started to travel whenever time and money allows. I like to travel slow and - if possible - overland. I like to travel - and also live - light. For me it's real luxury to say that everything I could possibly need and want to have with me fits in a backpack. When travelling I like to hitchhike, camp and couchsurf. It brings you closer to people and nature and makes you realize that there are a lot of generous, openminded and wonderful people out there. The two things which are most important to me are tolerance and emphaty. Apart from constructed differences like nation states and religion we're all humans and I don't understand people who lack emphaty for others because of that. I like discussing over things like this. Over a glass of wine or a bottle of beer. I like cooking. I like music. I like studying. I like intelligent, open-minded and easy-going people. And I like couchsurfing, because people here consciously decide not to host for money but rather take the chance to get to know other people by sharing space, time and experience for free. That's amazing and that's why I want to take part in this.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to listen to classical rock. I adore Bob Dylan, Dire Straits and Manu Chao. I love Eddie Vedder, especially the soundtrack he wrote for Into the Wild. I love Latin Music for dancing! But generally I like many kinds of music, depends on the situation I guess. And I love reading. One of my favourite books is definitely "The Golden Notebook" by Doris Lessing. I find George Orwell fantastic. Maybe Khaled Hossini and Chimamanda Adichie are my favourite contemporary writers. The latter one gave a TED talk called "The Danger of a Single Story" once. If you have not seen it yet - go watch it. I find it enlightening.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
hitchhiking from Istanbul to Moscow was one of my favourite expierences up to now.
