ABOUT ME
Warning: I would only host me if you do appreciate a hard working, outgoing, personable, creative, optimistic person :)
Hello! My name is Corinne Pyles and I was born and raised in the small farm village of Ostrander, Ohio. This village is centrally located in the mid-west state of Ohio, about 30 minutes outside its capital Columbus. I have been surrounded by farm life every year until my senior year in college were I moved into the town of Delaware, Ohio about 15 minutes from my house. My college, Ohio Wesleyan University, allowed me to meet many different people from all over the world. This was the closest opportunity to appreciating new cultures. While I have had the chance to travel to different places around the United States, I have never traveled across any seas or oceans. I felt I was missing the excitement and cultural experiences my friends had. Therefore, I decided I would travel after college. Talking with my friends about how I could make this dream a reality, a previous workawayer, Abra Williams-Witzkey, recommended workaway. Now, I am starting my first travel experience to the beautiful Island of Maui. Crossing my fingers for an absolute amazing experience.
My Family: I grew up with both my parents (Dan and Dee ), two older brothers (Jon and Joe), and many, many plants and animals. Currently our family has two beautiful dogs (Sasha and Judo), a very small pond full of fishies, and three cats (Stoner, Tom, and Cat). Surrounded by farms, we are constantly accepting stray or unwanted animals and welcoming them in our home. My mom and I also love to garden and have many indoor and outdoor plants that decorate our home. Needless to say, our home is full of life.
My Passion: I originally entered Ohio Wesleyan intending to pursue pharmaceutical production. However, after 5 hours in a cold lab with out seeing the sun, I knew this wasn’t what I wanted to do. One beautiful sunny day, I toured a small Ohio winery. I was taken away by the absolute beauty of Mother Nature and man. The flavors of each wine danced on my taste buds in such a unique way. And to my amazement, I saw the importance of chemistry in making wine. From this day on, I surrounded my life with the beautiful world of wine. I directed my degree in biochemistry to flavor chemistry, read every wine book I could get my hands on, volunteered at a local winery, and then began working at an amazing start up wine and bourbon bar where the customers call me the wine lady. I absolutely love it.
My Second Passion: I love to travel! While I haven't had the opportunity to travel extended distances, I have had the opportunity to travel to many states and meet many different people. I look forward to talking and enjoying peoples company and culture where ever I go. Being very personable and inquisitive, I find talking connecting to be relatively easy and certainly more enjoyable than being shy and reserved. I look forward to becoming more worldly with my travel and gaining new experiences and skills where ever I go.
Myself: I am an extremely dedicated to working hard but I also understand the need to relax and enjoy life. I think a big factor in enjoying life is being outside and active. I found that the more I'm outside and active, the happier I am. So I play many sports (volleyball, gymnastics, rugby, baseball, ect), go rock climbing, white water rafting, camping, I garden fresh herbs and produce all year long, try to run everyday, and I love to play with my two dogs as much as I can. Beyond being active to stay happy, I try very hard to enjoy the simple beauties in life. This includes making many new friends, trying as many new things as possible, and simply taking the time to look around and the new places I find.
