Overview
About Me
My favorite past time is traveling. I stopped traveling to raise a daughter. And now I am doing more traveling again. I love trying new things, learning about new places, the plants, the animals, the people, the foods, the economies, everything! I still want to go to so many places!
I still have to work, so right now I can't just travel all the time. As a result, I can enjoy traveling indirectly by hosting travelers!
I live in the 23ward area of Tokyo (as opposed to West Tokyo or one of the many islands). There is easy access to both airports.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting people, and I have had so many great experiences traveling over the years, and meeting cool people, why not have them just come to me!
Tokyo is one of the greatest cities, so I want to show off my city, and help people get to know it. I really prefer people who stay at least 3 nights. 1 night is too short!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love books. I have a lot of books here. Fiction, non-fiction, literature, how-to books, anthropology, economics and even some junk novels. In 4 languages. When life is getting a bit rough, there is nothing I like better than doing a binge read.
I also love movies.
The Fifth Element (1997) directed by Luc Besson, costume design by Jean-Paul Gaultier
It is really hard for me to say any one book or any one movie is my favorite. There are so many good books and good movies, and even sometimes just a part of one book or one movie was really good.
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood (1985)
The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy (1886)
Momo by Michael Ende (1973)
The Undercover Economist by Tim Harford (2005)
I also like contemporary art. Living in Tokyo, I have had the chance to see some of the most amazing major exhibits of contemporary art. For example, 2017 October I saw "SUNSHOWER; Contemporary Art from Southeast Asia 1980s to now" in Roppongi which was really amazing!
MUSIC: Led Zeppelin is very high on the list. Musicals. Tschaikovsky's _Romeo and Juliet_. "Solveig's Lied" from _Peer Gynt_ by Grieg.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Japan! And I successfully support myself, gave birth to and raised a daughter here, alone!
I also have visited a bunch of countries, and met a ton of people.
It was impossible to get a visa for Bolivia at the Embassy in Tokyo, so I did it at the border crossing near Lake Puno, Peru.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to make Japanese style pickles using "Nuka" (Rice bran). I can help with simple home maintenance like replacing fly screen, or changing a wall socket or a light fixture. I know how to use most of the standard office softwares on PCs, and some Apple, and a little Linux, on personal computers. I'm not too bad at European and American art history.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook. If you are not a fussy eater, I can cook up a storm! (But I am not going to come home from work to cook for guests, because I am too tired, when I am not traveling!)
