About Me
ABOUT ME
Originally from Austria I moved 6 years ago to the Netherlands. After successfully finishing my BA and MA here, I found a job in Amsterdam and am now dealing with TV content (mainly distribution of non-fiction documentaries).
I love exploring the world and engaging with different cultures (I also lived a year in the US). My interests focus is on art, architecture, photography, sports, food, festivals.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is an adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing for me is a mean to get more out of a trip/a place than only visiting. It is about getting to know locals, their culture, their way of living. For me it is the cultural exchange that makes a trip special. I consider openness, exchange and adventure as key characteristics for participating in couchsurfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started couchsurfing during my one-year stay in the US in 2007/2008. In the end of that I made a roadtrip for 3 weeks in California and Nevada with friends, and we couchsurfed where it was possible. We only made positive experiences with all our CS hosts, we stayed with a crazy, uncomplicated guy and his friends and had tons of fun (spontaneous nightly city tour), we had an 'invisible' host (we stayed one night and always (day/night) just missed each other, but via notes we communicated, it was fun) and lots more. When I moved to Holland I also couchsurfed the first two weeks here to directly get into touch with Dutch people. That marked the beginning of my by now 6-year stay now in the Netherlands, and I am still in contact with some of them!
