About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living life to the fullest

ABOUT ME

Laugh. Enjoy live. Make the best of every moment.
After high school I spend a year in Michigan as "Au Pair". Additionaly to the great time I had with my host family and friends I traveled a lot there and got to know a totally new culture. I love seeing new places and meeting different people. It was an amazing experience!
I studied engeneering physics in Ilmenau and truly enjoyed student life there! For an intership and my bachelor thesis I went to Sweden (Lund). Besides studying I tried to take in as much of the country as possible and really enjoyed my time there. In order to make the best of student life, I recently did interships in Australia and Kenya, that was an amazing experience!
I recently moved to Berlin with my boyfriend. I'm still exploring the city and just make the best of every moment here.

PHILOSOPHY

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Don't follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

It's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

No risk, no fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A friend of mine once told me about that internet platform and I really liked the idea of sharing experiences with other people and learning about new culture. Staying at locals makes traveling special and is way more fun:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couchsurfing when we were looking for a place to stay in Nashville. My friend found an amazing host family there and we had an amazing time! After that I really got into that whole couchsurfing thing and I surfed in many different cities all over the US and later in Sweden and Germany as well. It's always fantastic to meet new people with different characters and views on things.
I always had a great experience and I’m looking forward to meeting many other people.

Interests

I really like travelling, seeing new places, and getting to know different people. I travelled in Europe to many countries and I got to see many places in the United States.
In Germany, I was horse-back riding for 15 years and I'm looking forward to having a horse here in Berlin soon. I like doing other sports like running or volleyball and I'm always open to try out new things.
I love food and eating in general and I'm really into cooking and baking! I tried a lot of different recipies and created some of my own. I'm mostly eating healthy (except for some chocolate attacks haha) and I'm trying to check where the food is coming from and if it was grown biological.

Some other great things:
- cats and animals in general
- "deep" conversations about life
- the sound when waking through snow
- chocolate (a lot!), ice cream
- collecting all kinds of things
- sunshine and summer

Music, Movies, and Books

There is so much great music! I like pop and mainstream music, but I also enjoy listening to rock and punk-rock like Linkin Park, Sum 41, Blink-182, Green Day and Rise Against. It really depends on my mood and whats going on. Lately I really enjoy a mix of Indie/Alternative but I'm open to almost everything (except for Metal, Rap or German music haha)
My favourite books are fantasy or fiction books. Books with a historical background are great as well.
I like most movies, but especially comedies and those which are based on real stories. So except for horror movies I'm pretty open;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- driving through death valley, it's mind blowing how silent it is and that there's nothing at all (except for the road, sand and maybe a cactus here and then)

- I love how trips mostly end up being totally different than what you planned and you discover different things than most tourists do

- joining traditional line dancers in Nashville and just being a part of the native group

- hiking a glacier in Norway

- crowd-surfing at the Warped Tour (and loosing a shoe btw, but I didn't really care haha)

- backpacking through Taiwan with my boyfriend only doing couchsurfing and a lot of hitch-hiking and meeting those super helpful and friendly people

...ok that's more than one, but why should you limit amazing experiences? :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you all about my travel experiences in various countries and my experiences there. For foreign people I can show you around in Berlin (even though I still feel like a tourist here myself;)).
I'd love to hear exciting and interesting things about different places and funny stories. I'm open for everything new and can't wait to meet more people!

What I Can Share with Hosts

First I can share my positive and cheerful attitude;) I love philosophizing about life and how you can influence your subconsciousness, but I'm just starting to learn more about that as well.
Then I can cook some great (German) dishes like Auflauf, Apple crumble or just improvise;)
