About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To experience what Couchsurfers experience from the magic of Cornwall.
ABOUT ME
I work at a delightful hotel in St. Ives and am fortunate to be so near the sea. Being this close to nature gives out an energy that you won't receive in towns or cities and it's my desire for Couchsurfers to experience this.
PHILOSOPHY
The problem with the world today is that we're ordered about by politics and religion, a pretty lethal cocktail of the two put together if you ask me! If only we could look deeper into ourselves and pull away from the materialistics of life then we would find the answers of why we are here.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have worked in the hospitality sector in Cornwall for a number of years and have good knowledge of the area.
South Cornwall in my opinion is by far the most beautiful as the coastal regions here are breathtaking. The Southern Cornish Peninsula is home to such beautiful places such as St. Ives, St. Michael's Mount, Lands End and much more and all is easily accessible.
St Ives itself has simply the most amazing beaches, we have peaceful beaches should you wish to rest and let the world go round or the embracing and vibrant adventurous beaches that attract the surfers.
Cornwall is not just about nice beaches for the history of Cornwall is incredible and goes back centuries. What gave Cornwall it's recognition is it's mining for metal heritage. The Romans armour came from Cornwall and legend has it that Joseph of Arimathea visited this part of the British Isles with Jesus Christ when he was a teenager and that Jesus often blessed the mines. As a result Cornwall is considered to be a most scared place and through research you will be amazed at the amount of towns and villages that are named after Saints, St Ives being one of them.
Cornwall is steeped in legends and being the most ancient recorded land in the British Isles it's hardly surprising. So if you want to investigate the legends of King Arthur, Merlin & The Holy Grail then start your Holy quest here! :-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted some amazing people. :-) Making very special friends. Deep conversations, cooking, playing games etc. I've also learnt so much. The World is full of evil people but also some adorable people that have such hearts of gold.
Interests
I love the beauty of Cornwall and this inspires me to paint. I love to 'feel' Cornwall too, especially the sea and I often love to swim, bodyboard/surf and go out on my kayak/canoe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've travelled to Russia several times and visited orphaned children at an orphanage in Siberia. I visited them as Santa and I nearly perished in the snow as I got lost in the wilderness! Worth it though. It helps me to respect and be thankful that I live in a country that likes to help people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to share with you the clean air of St Ives, to feel the chill of the sparkling Atlantic, to feel the warmth of the white sands and see the light which has attracted artists everywhere.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Listening to the waves of the Atlantic crashing against the rocky Cornish coastline during a star filled night as you cuddle in the warm sleeping bag inside the tent. And then you wake up to a dew filled moor facing the beautiful blue sea, sipping coffee and experiencing the deafening silence.
