Overview
About Me
I've yet to host anyone from couchsurfing, but I've sure been getting a hell of a lot of practice with company with all the visitors we've had since moving to California.
I'd like to build up a good report with others on here, so if you're in the Long Beach/Los Angeles area, let's go for coffee! You for coffee, me for hot chocolate, anyhow.
Living the domestic, routine work life temporarily, but have a two-week trip planned all the way up the west coast of the U.S in August. Tentative route is from here in LBC up the 1 to the Olympic Peninsula, and back down again. Summer 2016, the girlfriend is going to get me to attempt a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. I've camped a thousand times, but have yet to be on an overnight hike, so I've got a lot of learnin' to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I can't travel at the moment, I'm open to letting people crash and living vicariously through their own adventures!
I haven't hosted anyone yet so I suppose those looking for more of a short-term stay would be ideal.
Interests
This is a bit like asking someone their favorite band, or food. You have a bunch to begin with, tons more that you certainly haven't discovered yet, and somehow you can't even name just one off the top of your head when asked.
For the sake of fun, I'd have to say my biggest interests are music, comedy, and SCIENCE! I'm a big fan of the monthly space talk show at the Griffith Observatory (All Space Considered). The two of us even make a mandatory monthly date day out of it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Loud music, weird movies, clever books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled every single chance I've gotten in the past four years! No regrets.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't think I'm qualified to teach anything at this point, but I'm pretty damn good at learning and sharing!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Similar to what I can offer any potential crashers; bad, but enthusisastic storytelling, endless puns and (intentionally) bad jokes, oddball knowledge, and a high interest in your own personal life and travels.
Countries I’ve Visited
