I am a lover, a thinker and a believer. I enjoy talking to people about various topics, the more real (to life, to me, to you) the more energy I get. Talking until 3 or 4 a.m. is not uncommon for me!
Although I traveled to China with the intention to quickly travel to Turkey, I found a wonderful, giving and fun woman who loves to laugh and travel. We got married within my first year in China. About a year later we had a daughter. I have learned so much about the family culture, traditions, styles, benefits, and oddities. Truly, I have been blessed. We are now making plans to travel to Turkey before settling in America.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While living in a small town in Hubei China, my friend was a couch surfer and had agreed to host someone. However, their plans changed and needed to be delayed...unfortunately it was at the end of the school year so my friend went home. He asked me to help the couch surfer and I've been a member since then.

The idea that we can freely and lovingly give our time, house, talents and energy to "strangers" is incredibly fascinating to me. I think the couch surfing community holds one of the keys to a successful, wholesome future.

Interests

I want to learn more about the real lives of people. Most of my free time is spent learning to love and connect people. As I meet more people I find more and more that we are striving for the same thing. Perhaps I am crazy, but, I want to understand as much about how real people live, what they need, what they want, what their dreams, hopes, fears, and stories are.

Holistic approaches to my own personal life, those of my family, friends, community, world, and all that is are what I hope to learn more about, and then put into action.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have appreciated a lot of music, movies and books that span several genres, styles and so on. Usually, if the person talking about something is passionate about it, whether I've read it or not, I'm interested.

Lately I haven't been reading as much but I'm in the middle of the Wheel of Time series.

I listen to rock/electronic/blues/indie/psychedelic/ambient/classical/new age/...and sometimes pop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel my life has been a series of Amazing Events. I asked for a chance to travel to Turkey and a plan was whispered in my heart and then delivered to me. It all began when I found a book that I had never seen or heard of... in my belongings... but it's a long story.
