About Me

I am a Global and International Studies student with a focus in States, Security, and Transnational Governance. In addition, I study Ethics and hope to continue on to receive a graduate degree in Human Rights and work in a humanitarian setting. I have an ENFP-A type personality. I'm looking for and open to inspiring people, places, and experiences.

I love passionate people, good vibes, coffee, wine, tattoos, traveling, humor, and animals. When I'm not traveling, I am typically spending time with my partner and our dog. We're hoping to add a cat to the family soon.

Happy and positive people talk about ideas and experiences - I'd consider myself one of those people.

CURRENT ADVENTURE:
I am traveling four 4 months across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. I will spent most of my time either working in Moria Camp in Greece or studying in Lyon, France. Outside of these two endeavors, I will travel to 21 countries over the summer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is the best way to combine traveling on a budget with meeting new people and getting immersed into the culture of a location.

When I travel, I want to gain a deeper understanding of the lives and experiences of others. I want to hear about the struggles of the people as well as the things that bring joy to their hearts. Staying in a hotel doesn't come close to providing that experience.

I've found that when I stay in a hotel, it just feels like I'm traveling to say I've traveled. When I am fortunate enough to stay with other people, I gain so much more insight and perspective.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
The Great Gatsby, A Separate Peace, Lord of the Flies,

Music:
Just about anything, really. I love going to music festivals and concerts. Live music is the best, regardless of the genre. Music is just about the atmosphere it creates as it is about the passion behind it, in my opinion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a member of a group called the MCFYP committee.

Each year in Michigan, youth on "Youth Advisory Councils" collectively give out 2.5 million dollars to projects supporting youth in their communities. Part of my role is to help train them how to do so most effectively. I'm an active volunteer with over 2,500 hours of service.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I would hope to teach you anything you'd like to know about where I come from and the places I've traveled.

Learn:
If only there was enough time to learn all of the things I could in just one stay. I'm willing to learn whatever you're willing to teach! Currently, I am interested in learning about photography.
