ABOUT ME

I'm really pretty simple. My name is Cory.Laughs because my middle name is literally "he laughs". This is my mantra and I will laugh at everything, including the pain. Wabi-Sabi.

I've been to Europe a lot and always enjoy finding new stops with great views and interesting people. Couchsurfing is how I get around to it.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life to the fullest degree possible. I believe that the world was created by a benevolent God and that He enjoys when we enjoy. This causes me laugh as often as I can, turn tears into wisdom and then joy, and to spread the love of life to others.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I understand how much good the CS Project is capable of. I will spread the word from couch to couch that good people can be found in such and such a city and will be happy to host surfers when I have a couch of my own (as long as I'm not sojourning myself)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Brussels, my companion and I landed not to far from the city center in a rad flat with a host whose friends also had couchsurfers in town. We all met up for dinner, ended up listening to some great music, sharing a few drinks and some beautiful readings from our native languages. Probably the best night of my 3 week trip.

Interests

Poetry, Literature, Music, Landscapes, Philosophy, Culture. I am not interested in day to day non-sense, preferring to look at a bigger social picture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Movies include: Run Lola Run (Lola Rennt), The Big Lebowski (and most any Coen Bros. film), most of Tarantino's films, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Matrix Trilogy (and the Animatrix), and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Favorite Books include: Fahrenheit 451, Crime and Punishment, The Idiot, the Bible, Brian Jacques Redwall series, Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman's Dragonlance Chronicles, Pilgrim's Progress, Siddhartha, most of Kafka's short stories, and The Metamorphosis... just to name a few.
Favorite Music include: The Beatles, Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes, Old Crow Medicine Show, Pelican (and many other ambient/rock/instrumental projects), Coheed and Cambria, and Radiohead.
