ABOUT ME

I am a teacher, but also strive to be a life-long learner. I love learning about other people's lives, whether it be the lives of my students, co-workers, or people I meet in any other context. I love to dance, read, run, sing, travel, work in my garden, hang with family and friends, and many other things. I have 2 cats. They do not travel with me!

PHILOSOPHY

I strive to live a life of integrity, to be open-minded towards anyone I meet and to look for the good in everyone, even those who are...challenging. This serves me well as a teacher! I believe in helping people and doing that whole "treat others as you wish to be treated" thing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Thus far I have surfed and met up with CSers in India, Morocco, Palestine, Turkey, and Italy. I will continue to surf and when I finally get home, look forward to hosting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, so good! I am enjoying meeting new people with open-hearted spirits!!

Interests

Traveling (duh), singing, reading, writing, dancing (especially Latin!), gardening, watching movies, surprising my students by acting like a fool when I am teaching.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Machu Picchu- wow. Church of the Primacy of Peter by the Sea of Galilee- After reading about how people would lick the ground of holy places and thinking that was really weird, I understood the impulse when I was in that church. I did not lick anything there, but something about that place was pretty powerful!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in social justice issues and happen to teach it, too. I still have a lot to learn about the many injustices in the world and about the people who are trying to level the playing field, but I am reasonably knowledgeable about justice issues.
