About Me

CURRENT MISSION

happy GO lucky

ABOUT ME

I am a quiet, creative, amiable person constantly amazed by this strange world we live in. I love to grow, make, and fix things. I am happiest sitting at the dinner table with good people enjoying a meal made with love.

PHILOSOPHY

The path that is already a path is not the path.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm riding the wave of hospitality. Come July I will be settled in Portland and will hopefully be able to return the hospitality I have received.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I rode my ol' ten speed Centurion from Boston, across Mass, up Vermont to Montreal, and back down around the coast of Maine. When my planning was not so good I sneakily slept on baseball fields, front yards, cemeteries, creek beds, etc. When my planning was better I slept on cozy couches in Boston, Burlington, and Montreal thanks to this website.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: 100 Years of Solitude, JEAN GIONO is a saint I love everything he has written but Joy of Mans Desiring best, The Invisible Cities, A Book of Luminous Things, anything by Jack Gilbert, Walt Whitman, all those magical romantic spanish fantabulists

Movies: Kurasawa, Down By Law, Pan's Labyrinth, Gumby, Thin Red Line, The Bicycle Thief, Humphrey Bogart

Music: Talking Heads, mariachi, highlife, trashy pop country on the radio, Screamin Jay Hawkins, Tom Waits, Nick Drake, Billie Holiday, early American folk music, gypsy brass, four year olds at the piano, the theremin, raspy vocals, Van Morrison, not what they play at my dentists office.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A one armed man juggling ten bowling pins.

Teach, Learn, Share

Depending on our time restraints perhaps we can make sourdough pancakes, sourdough pizza, or sourdough bread? I'm eager to learn about beer brewing and distilling.
