I love traveling. I believe it opens up one to the understanding of other cultures and quite honestly makes people better to experience places and cultures other than their own. I am currently studying towards my single subject teaching credential in math with the desire to become a middle school math teacher. I lived in Germany for two years when I was much younger and recently taught English in Taiwan for 4 months before exploring Ecuador.

As I recently moved back from Taiwan and sold my house before I left, I currently live with my parents in my childhood home. It is quite spacious though with a guest room and hallway bathroom which is never used except by guests ;) My parents are always welcoming to guests and have hosted multiple foreign exchange students throughout the years along with my foreign friends even when I didn't live here.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I originally was on couchsurfing when I I owned my own home. My first surfer is to this day a dear friend of mine from Italy. He has returned to the States multiple times and I have also visited Italy. I have only surfed with him but have hosted many people in my home in Santa Rosa, CA. I thoroughly enjoy hearing peoples stories and giving them advice on what to do around my neighborhood (or even joining them). It gives me a new sense of appreciation for my own backyard.

I also plan on traveling extensively during my career as a teacher, utilizing my summers but needing to minimize my travel costs (you know how they pay teachers) :) I sign up for Karma so putting good out gets good back so while I would like to travel in the future I would like to offer what I can in return and also to meet others and start building my future travel log.

I enjoy all types of music with the exception of electronic music and metal. Other than that I'm pretty flexible while mostly listening to country.

Slept outside in a hammock and woke up in a cloud forest in Ecuador. This was while I was WWOOFing. It was a 45min hike to the farm. Hard work but beautiful and amazing rewarding.

Travel experiences, always happy to cook/clean/help out if need be. I'm very friendly and always willing to lend a hand where I can or share adventures over a few drinks. Spontaneity is the key!
