ABOUT ME

I was born in dysfunctional communist Romania and grew up in dysfunctionally capitalist Romania, so I guess it's no wonder I'm interested in all sorts of social and political issues. Lately I've been really enjoying living in Montreal, so many things to do, so many fun and interesting people to hang out with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had strangers willing to share their place, food, and time with me, arrived in a new city and had a dozen new acquaintances by the end of the day, snuck into beautiful hillside pools at midnight with people I just met, got a crash course on juggling from a unicycle rider with a giant moustache, played in the snow half-naked in the middle of February, and made some really special friends along the way.

Interests

Traveling (dah), sports (hockey and soccer more than anything else), laughing, life, intelligence and the big questions, eating fruits straight off the trees, making grains ferment, exploring Quebec on my bicycle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favourite travel experiences was staying with this 70 year old woman in the mountains of Romania, who shared some homemade plum brandy with me in the morning before heading out and doing more physical labour in a day than most people I know do in a month. If I'm a quarter as energetic as her by the time I reach her age, I think I'll be ok.
