About Me

I was born in the Philippines and grew up in Germany and the UK. I also lived in Australia for 2 years but am now based in Glasgow, Scotland. Here, I like to escape the concrete as much as I can to explore the Highlands through hiking, camping and swimming in the many lochs, rivers and the sea. I am happiest when I'm outside, making something or when I'm eating.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy immersing myself in local culture, food, music and languages when I'm travelling and I think staying with locals is a great way to do so! I have hosted couchsurfers from different places in my sharehouse when I was living in Melbourne and Glasgow and have always had great experiences.

I think it's a great way to meet open, like-minded people and I would love to exchange travel recommendations, language skills and of course, food :)

Interests

I enjoy being outside, and spend a lot of time hiking, foraging, camping and swimming. I'm interested in the environment and sustainability, I also like working with my hands and keep busy making bread, pottery and food!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy many types of music but particularly soul, funk, latin, world music - especially when it's live. I love having a dance!

I like old movies, classic horror movies, art house films. I watch a lot of things with subtitles. Rosemary's baby, Psycho, The Exorcist, La Dolce Vita, Night of the Living Dead (the OG version), Roma

I love to read everything - I switch between classic and modern fiction, and the odd interesting non-fiction book (Harari, Michael Pollan). I like George Orwell, Leo Tolstoy, Haruki Murakami, Aldous Huxley. I recently really enjoyed reading Entangled Life by Merlin Sheldrake.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made bread from just water, flour, salt and air.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm fluent in German, English and speak pretty good French so I'm happy to share some language skills. I'm currently learning Spanish and would also love to learn Portuguese and Tagalog.

In my free time I make bread and pottery so can share some of my skills, I also love learning about plants and fungi so can share some knowledge here in terms of identification and cultivation, and am always keen to learn more!

I enjoy putting lots of time and energy into my food, and enjoy cooking and eating with others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bake and cook for you!

I'm pretty easy-going and am equally happy socialising and going for a beer, or just hanging out by myself.
