Overview
About Me
Hi I'm Cosima, a 23 year old political science student from Germany. Right now I'm studying abroad in Turku, Finland.
I would describe myself as tolerant, open minded and relaxed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to travel, I have lived abroad two times and am doing an Erasmus semester in Finland right now. What I love about traveling is that you not only get to know new places but also new people and hopefully different ways of living. While I haven't really traveled by myself a lot I hope that Couchsurfing could help me to travel more and also connect to people.
Interests
I am interested in politics, I call myself a feminist and am interested in gender studies. I like traveling and learning about aswell as experiencing different cultures. Since I've done two exchanges myself I volunteer for an exchange organisation. I do work at the airport for them and although it can be stressful it's always nice to get to meet many different people from different parts of the world.
In school I used to play the viola in the orchestras my school had. Someday I'd like to get back to that. I love cooking and baking and I'm an ice hockey fan.
I can interest myself for many things, even if it's something I would usually not be that interested in, if someone is really passionate about something it becomes interesting to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to read a lot, as a kid i practically live at the library, sadly right now I don't read fiction that much anymore. I blame it on having to read a lot for university. Thank god for audio books. I like fictional history books, crime novels, documentaries and I love harry potter, I reread it from time to time.
I am one of those persons that will tell you that they listen to every type of music, boring I know. I like some classic music but top 40 is also fine with me. I love listening to podcasts such as This American Life or Stuff Mom Never Told You.
As with music I like a lot of movies, at home I have a list of the ones I want to see and it's not getting shorter. One genre I don't like is horror movies, I am to easily scared for that. I like documentaries but also some blockbusters. Movies I have reached a lot are the Harry Potter series, little miss sunshine and hunting and gathering (ensemble, ces't tout) it is also one of those books that instantly makes me feel better.
I like to watch series such as Madame Secretary, House of Cards or Borgen.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While working in Colombia as a volunteer for one year I had many amazing experiences. Caving and paragliding are definitely something that I will cherish for a long time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think that we can always learn from each other, be it a new recipe, how to knit or something completely different, almost everything can be interesting.
I could try to teach you some German, although I don't know how successful I'd be, I like sharing recipes and since I went to a waldorfschool I learned something called Eurythmie which means I can show you how to "dance your name".
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you host me I can hopefully offer you interesting conversations. I like cooking and baking and if you would like I could cook or bake something for you.
