About Me
Hi guys,
my name is Marwin, 25, and I am currently studying materials science in Germany. When I am not studying I love to travel all around the world, meet new people and learn about different cultures. I am a very open-minded, down-to-earth and curious person who learned to love diversity. I enjoy (also controversial) discussions about love, life, politics, ideology, philosophy and a lot more because understanding requires encounter. :-)
As your guest, I am happy to meet you and spend time with you but it's not an obligation. I am very much self-reliant, i.e. I can take care of myself and keep me busy. Your house your rules! I am happy to adjust to your routines whatsoever. Please be open about your expectations! I don't mind constructive criticism.
I am looking forward to meeting you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am curious about life in every way. Meeting local people and exchanging experiences is the perfect way to deal with wrong assumptions and prejudices and we have so many of those intrisically planted in our brains. Also, it's just a big difference to discover a city with local people in contrast to following a touristic sightseeing tour.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not a huge music person. I listen to music all the time but not in a "do you know this new band" and "I've seen that band before they became famous" kind of manner. If I love a song I don't care who sings it or which genre it belongs to.
I always loved watching series and movies (and I still do it frequently). I like trashy movies which just make you laugh, just as movies which treat the big topics in life. I don't care for horror movies though.
I read way too little although it makes me very happy. I mostly read throughout my travels because that's usually when I feel peaceful enough to enjoy reading. One of my favorite books is "The Swarm" by Frank Schätzing. Other than that I read books about psychology, even esotericism if I feel very open-minded and society. Not to forget about classics like Harry Potter (yes I called it a classic ;-)).
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm doing couchsurfing in the first place to exchange experiences. I've been traveling quite a few places throughout the past years so I am sure I have something to offer. Unfortunately, I'm not a very gifted cook. Only thing I can really contribute is a salad dressing :-)
