About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have more adventures than I expect, every day.

ABOUT ME

I feel like I have lived a full and interesting life at 31 years of age. I have recently quit my job working 80 hours a week in the political and environmental non-profit world to move to Mammoth Mountain, CA. I am almost certain I will never do anything for work that I do not love. I do love snow, deep powder snow, as much as anything on this planet, except possibly music. Very hard to leave Mammoth now that I have a full time year round job that I really like. We will see, eh. I would love to meet you, whomever you may be.

PHILOSOPHY

I was born to have adventure. I realize that most people are not happy, most are not happy with their jobs and some not happy with their life at home and their families they have after work is over. I am committed to never falling into this category of people. Stay positive, optimistic and happy. In short, I've decided to stay excited. Never settle for anything, "don't stop dreaming, when you stop you know it's time to die".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met some great people on a few surfing trips across the country. I now have a respectable couch for others to surf too! I have hosted lots of people from all over the world in the past year and hope to be able to keep doing so for a long time. The only thing better than friends are new friends. Please only send me a request if you are into meeting new friends, not just looking for a couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been bit of a couchsurfer before I ever participated in this project. I have lived in many places and love to go back and visit them all while staying with friends and keeping their couches warm. My first couchsurfing experience was amazing. I surfed with about 6 different people for about 14 days and was very impressed by almost everyone I stayed with. I very much appreciated that everyone really wanted to get to know me and have deep philosophical, political, religious and scientific conversations. There was a real sense of important things, the wanting to share of important knowledge, this made me realize how couchsurfing really could save the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped to pass a renewable energy standard in Ohio, yes Ohio, the fourth largest polluting state in terms of carbon dioxide from coal in the country. Ohio, as of April 2008 must recieve 12.5% of it's electricity from wind and solar by 2015 and 25% by 2025. This was done with a shit ton of unpaid overtime by a great number of dedicated individuals, some of which I was lucky enough to work with.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a greeeeeen thumbI know a good deal about science, physics, art, art history, environmental issues, sustainability, politics, music, snow and travel, backpacking, philosophies, objectivism, the universe.I am interested in playing music of any kind with anyone, I have an acoustic electric bass, electric bass ans amp and acoustic gutiar...and I have a lot to learn.
