Did the usual things growing up, + went to Europe at 16 during high school, and hit most of the countries--utilizing the Spanish, German, French I was studying.
Following that, a bit of college and a lot of outdoor--hike, climb, summiting, camp.
Returned to school for a bacherlor's degree/teaching credential, then taught 1st/3rd grades.
Other occupations before/during/after university include carpenter, restaurant, bus driver, retail store, entertainer (clown, juggler, magic), outdoor guide, computer programmer, truck driver...etc.

Moved to Lake Tahoe to teach, got MORE involved in outdoor activities: telemark skiing (joined the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team), kayaking (white/sea), etc.
Returned to university for a masters in Computer Science--got the perfect work-from-home job (till economic crash); then did some truck driving all over the USA.
Here I am now! ;)
