About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Me and my girlfriend love the concept of couch surfing; hosting and surfing alike. We met travelling the world and we think the people you meet along the way really make your travels special. So we want to share that with other like minded people whether we are surfing or hosting.

ABOUT ME

An British expat living in the Netherlands. I moved to Utrecht in 2015 after meeting my girlfriend, Myrthe while travelling through Thailand. I am an Engineer by trade, an avid sporter (me and Myrthe both box). We are super travellers and have been lucky enough to see alot of the world. We have met some fantastic people on our travels and we want to give something back to the travel community. We love giving advice to people who want to do the same

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up to couch surfing a few years ago and had my first surfing experience in December 2013.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed in Minneapolis, USA (the coldest place I have ever been), for 2 nights in December 2013. I met some great people, fellow surfers, hosts and had a great time.

Interests

We play alot of sport, squash, boxing, cycling, running, hiking, snowboarding. I also enjoy socialising, traveling and we are definitely partial to the odd pint. Obviously travelling is a huge interest, we can't wait to do more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once ate in a restaurant that was pitch black. All the waiters and waitresses were blind. They led me from the foyer to my table by feel (I had my hands on the waitresses shoulders). I then ate my meal in complete darkness. The food tasted awesome. I have no idea how many other people there were, It sounded like hundreds. It gave me a brief appreciation of how much we rely on sight and how much better food tastes when it's enjoyed, not just scoffed. An amazing experience.
