CURRENT MISSION

Completing the PHP programming for the Global Wisdom System, which is a curriculum I've been working on for my entire adult life.

ABOUT ME

The biggest thing in my awareness or interest is my life project, which is developing the Global Wisdom System. This began as a creative vision or download in February 1976, during which I had a vision of a computer-based training curriculum for personal and spiritual growth. This creative vision had a structure and many different alternatives that were very much impossible at the time, and in addition, this was largely before the genre of personal growth/alternative spirituality materials being available.

Nonetheless, this vision has followed me everywhere. It is currently a 2000-page document which I'm now beginning to transfer into MySQL, as well as programming the first of six or eight modules to bring it to the internet. I've never written PHP before, but my initial piece of code creates and begins to handle a multi-dimensional array that comes from the database.

It's a difficult project for an old geezer to take on. This project is excruciatingly time consuming and painfully complicated.

PHILOSOPHY

My wife and I have determined that whatever happens to either of us affects the energy "pond" that we live in together. It's not that we're always telepathic, but we do notice that when one of us is having a problem, it influences the atmosphere for both of us, and that neither of us can operate as independent units.

We realize that there is a lesser connection between any two people with a significant relationship, and that our culture's superstition of separateness is both unhealthy and ungrounded in reality.

We also see this as being central to how healthy a nation or a culture is--do people realize that they are influenced by the fate of the least fortunate or do they believe erroneously that they are unrelated. It also influences our relationship with the poly subculture, where in our view, most people practice polyamory as if it were simultaneous monogamy.

We think that the partitioning between peoples in each of these spheres leads to a personal dysfunction in terms of divided personalities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just joined CS. However, we've had a friend who needed help couchsurfing with us for over a year before we moved from the large house where we sublet rooms to live in our current postage stamp. She's also couchsurfed here for several weeks at a time.

Centres d'intérêt

Currently, everything has to do with PHP programming and entering my project into the database. Also very interested in various spiritual paths, such that I'm on the board of the pagan church Church of All Worlds and I'm currently studying Huna. I've taken the Nine Gates Mystery School program and I've been both a pilgrim and a priest in a two-year Eleusinian Mysteries cycle.

Mostly, I can't afford them, time or money. I am in a book club where we read everything from Jeffrey Sach's "Common Wealth" to a variety of Riane Eisler's books.
Every year, on my birthday, I watch the entire extended version of Lord of the Rings. Highly approved of the political message of Avatar.
