About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to be inspired by people of different cultures through discussions, good food, and laughter.

** I will be travelling to Japan and South Korea from Feb 24 to April 2, 2026. **

ABOUT ME

Always smiling, laughing and in a good mood !! I'm a very curious person by nature, I love to meet new people and experiment novelty. History, geography, people and new cultural experiences are my greatest passions! I like when things are simple, I never say no to a coffee on a terrace, to ice cream after a beautiful hike, or to a night out with friends !!

PHILOSOPHY

"Always look for the best in the worst."

"Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're gonna get!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently open to host travellers.

My next travel will happen in February 24th to April 2nd in Japan and South Korea.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In January 2007, I brought an Australian (a friend of one of mine who was in the region for a couple of days) at my parents place in Québec city for a weekend. I loved the experience! It made me want to do it again!

For the CS project, my guests in Gatineau :
Adrien from France (May 2007), Matthias and Alex from Germany (June 2007), Dean the Aussie from BC (June-July 2007), Steven from Belgium (July 2007), Samy and Kamal from France (September 2007), Gijs from Belgium (September 2007), Christophe and Melinda from Hungary (September 2007) and Marlene from USA (August 2009).

Upcoming guest(s) :
No one for the moment!

For the CS project, my hosts in Europe :
Emese from Porto (my first and best host!), Filipa from Coimbra, Adrien from Toulouse, Ari from Paris, Romain from Lyon, Kamal from Montpellier, Samy from Pau, Emmanuel from Marseille, and Christophe from Nice. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU GUYS FOR A GREAT TIME IN YOUR COMPANY DURING SUMMER 2007! I TRULY HAD A BLAST BECAUSE YOU ALL ARE AMAZING PEOPLE!

To all the great Couchsurfing people I met along the way, by coincidence or through CS meetings, cheers! You all are welcome at my place in Gatineau, Québec!

Interests

In no particular order: Travelling, learning, laughing, talking, teaching, meeting new people, spending time with loved ones, listening to music, seeing a play or going to a museum, dancing zumba or salsa, playing games - any games, cooking, eating good food, drinking wine and sangria, discovering things that I don't know, hiking in the forest, walking without knowing where I'm going, watching sunsets... and so on!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During 2004 and 2005, I organized a trip to Senegal, Africa, while I was in University. The objectives were to meet students and teachers, to make conferences in high schools, to get in touch with the education system, etc. This was my own project and it finally took place in April-May 2005! That's also where I got the nickname "Coumba"...

Summer 2007: went backpacking by myself in Europe...

Summer 2009: skydived (that was truly amazing)!!!

Winter 2020 : snorkeled in Silfra fault, Iceland.

Winter 2027 : hoping to teach English/French in Japan or South Korea.
