to go to as many countries and meet as many people as I can. and most importantly to go to Russia before I die.

ABOUT ME

I've mostly lived in the US but spent my first year of college studying abroad, which supposedly 'internationalised' me. I like people-watching and thinking about why people do the things they do. I also like taking pictures of people that I don't know when they're not looking, which some people think is rude. I think it's more fun that way.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to host more as the one time I was able to was a smashing sucess. For the time being I'm trying to get involved in various events. Always trying to meet new people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for about a week in Scandinavia, which was great fun. I also hosted two Englishmen during the 4th of July, and it was a big cozy party in my tiny apartment with my friends from home visiting as well. Everybody had a great time!

Interests

Writing, photography, going to concerts, making delicious food, making friends with strangers, going to cafes and bars for hours at a time to read or write.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Explosions in the Sky, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Yann Tiersen, some weird stuff. looking for new stuff.

I've been trying to get myself to read more and since then have just been devouring memoirs. Most recently Angela's Ashes and 'Tis. I also enjoyed Bossypants (Tina Fey) and Seriously... I'm Kidding (Ellen DeGeneres) in audiobook form (but that might not count).

I watch an awful lot of television, especially for someone who doesn't even own a TV. Current favorites: Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Community and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Scrubs is an all-time favorite.

I've also been going to the movies a lot lately, and recent favorites there include Midnight in Paris and Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New York City on the night that Obama was elected changed my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learned how to develop film and print photos and apparently I'm pretty amazing at it for a beginner, so I could share my limited knowledge of that with whoever doesn't get sick of me talking about it.
