About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find balance

ABOUT ME

I'm a recent college grad taking some time to travel before getting my life in order. I'm hoping to go to med school in a couple of years.

I'm easygoing and love meeting new people. I'm currently planning a coast-to-coast road trip through the southern US.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that you get what you give, and that it's important to step outside your comfort zone as often as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I've surfed a handful of times with some wonderful hosts. I want to host, but it may be a bit before I can offer a couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Absolutely amazing! Through CS, I have brewed cider in Midland, had a memorable Halloween in Tuscaloosa, learned a bit about silversmithing in Asheville, partied in an old funeral home in Charleston, and swapped outfits at least two dozen times at a change clothes party in Oxford, MS. It's made traveling even more fun.

Interests

Outdoorsy stuff (hiking, camping, horse riding, fishing...), live music, dancing (especially two step), coffee, critical race theory, feminist theory, cooking, beer, travel, guitar.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as movies go, some favorites are The Princess Bride, Avengers, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and anything with Sandra Bullock.

Lately, there's an 80% chance I'm listening to country, a 10% chance it's Jack's Mannequin, an 8% chance of something else, and a 2% chance it's "Call Me Maybe." ;-)

I read a lot of African novels. I have a particular weakness for post-apocalyptic YA novels with strong female protagonists (Hunger Games, Divergent, The Uglies). I'm also working my way through the Vampire Chronicles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving was an incredible experience, as was learning to surf.
An amazing thing I've seen is bio-luminescent plankton making the waves glow at high tide- truly spectacular.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to make the best hangover breakfast ever.
