About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To connect and laugh with a world of awesome people... at least during 2009!
ABOUT ME
2009 is my year of nothing but travel, and I hope you can help me enjoy it to the max. Just finished law degree during an exchange semester in Germany - will be heading home to work in 2010. But enough of the boring stuff... I want to know your story!
PHILOSOPHY
Ok so I heard a quote by George Bernard Shaw that goes: "The man who writes about his own time is the only man who writes about all people all the time."
We all have stuff in common, much more than we ever realise or remember. To see our similarities is to overcome our differences. Corny, perhaps, but true.
Interests
Having a laugh, sport, bellydance, film (most types), music (anything that makes me want to dance), cooking, chocolate, icecream - let's just make that food generally, hearing people's stories and learning new stuff...
- dancing
- dining
- cooking
- chocolate
- movies
- traveling
- music
- sports
- swimming
- law
Music, Movies, and Books
Music - If I couch surf with you i will introduce you to some awesome Australian music, because we've got so much. But my favourite music changes with my mood.
Movies - Lars and the Real Girl, The Black Balloon, Goodbye Lenin, Shawshank Redemption, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Minority Report, The Notebook, Van Wilder, Romi and Michelle's High School Reunion, Dirty Dancing, The Godfather (all three parts), The Lives of Others, Pan's Labyrinth, The Lion King, Alladin, Gladiator... the list continues and I am open to discussion...
Books - The Leopard, Atonement, The Time Traveler's Wife, Lord of the Rings (still!), The Power of One, ok and to be honest many John Grisham novels (i'm sorry but it's true!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swam my little heart out with so many others growing up in country Victoria - training 7-8 times a week, often at 4am in the morning.
More recently - improved my high school German enough to pass law exams in Germany and to be able to speak fluently to my elderly relatives. That is really amazing for me - to think I only spoke English 8 months ago!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you swim, help you bellydance, and help you with german grammar (but not English! :-) ) and if anyone is ever interested in the Australian legal system, I can probably help you out a little bit too. And if you ever want to talk about movies, I am your girl.
