About Me
****We are living out of the country for the next year, so unfortunately can’t accept any guests ****.
I actually joined couchsurfing around 2000 and loved it, but then got married and had a baby and kind of forgot about it. I though Airbnb had replaced it, but alas no!
I worked at the a university in Dayton Ohio teaching ESL and lived in a great downtown neighborhood where a hosted. We are now in Algeria for the next year, where I am teaching English.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favorite part of traveling is getting to know the people of a country. So when I can't go abroad....let them come to me :)
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
― Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad/Roughing It
Interests
My husband is loves climbing mountains, going on arduous bike rides, and long kayaking excursions. He has done all but 4 of 14ers in Colorado and spent 4 months biking across Indonesia and completed about 60% of the AT.
I prefer less arduous bike rides, and long walks. Doing the Camino was one of my favorite experiences.
We both love walking, public transportation, and are happy to be car free!
