Overview
About Me
I am an avid traveler with many passions. I greatly appreciate meeting new people and discussing their views of the world. During my undergrad, I majored in International Affairs with an East Asia regional emphasis. Next fall I will begin my graduate degree in Diplomacy and Global Governance in Brussels.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I adore travel and am always looking to form friendships with fellow travelers. I appreciate hearing other's stories and listening to their viewpoints. After backpacking China, I felt that I would like to give back to the travel community by offering a room to stay. By being a member of couchsurfer, I hope to meet new friends and learn about their experiences across the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Choosing favorites can always prove so difficult. In regards to music, I adore the Beatles, Death Cab for Cutie, the Black Keys, the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, the Kooks, Yann Tiersen, and many more.
As for movies: Most works by Guillermo del Torro (I love his lush aesthetics), All of the works of Hayao Miyazaki (I adore his emphasis on strong female characters and environmental awareness) , The Illusionist, Thank You for Smoking, Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Drive, Neon Demon, and Patterson.
Last, but not least, here are some of my favorite books: for poetry, I enjoy most of the poets featured by Button Publishing; for fiction, I enjoy Haruki Murakami, Mary Shelley, Raymond Carver, Hemingway, Faulkner, Nabokov, Kafka, Boulgakov, Maxine Hong-Kingston, Camus, and many others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It probably pales in comparison to the adventures of others on this site, but I backpacked across China by myself. During this time, I visited Beijing, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guilin, Kunming, Dali, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Leshan. I really enjoyed having this opportunity, since it enabled me to encounter extraordinary people and taught me tenacity and flexibility. Additionally, I enjoyed working as an English tutor while studying at Sichuan University.
Teach, Learn, Share
I cannot promise that I will be able to teach much, but I am happy to share my knowledge and learn from the people who I encounter. I am always happy to discuss International Relations, Social Justice, Feminism, Photography, Street Art, Literature, Poetry, Music, Cooking, and the like. I can be a tad shy, but I enjoy meaningful conversations. Perhaps through these conversations we can both learn about the other and his/her/their culture.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As an avid fan of photography, I am happy to show how to use a DSLR (Reflex) camera. I am no professional though, so be warned. jajajaja. I also enjoy cooking greatly and am happy to cook a meal with my guests or for my hosts.
