Overview
About Me
I was born in Canada and got a taste for travelling at a young age when my parents started packing us up for family adventures across the country and into the US. But, my love for travelling really developed when my dad was transferred to Scotland (where he was born) to work as an ex-pat for 5 years. After seeing bits of Europe I was hooked.
I returned to Canada to go to University, starting first with a Bachelor of Arts and finishing with an after degree a Bachelor of Education. I taught in Canada for 6 years before the desire and opportunity came to teach abroad. Now, I teach in a primary school in London, England and love every second of it.
The best part of being back in Britain is the ability to travel again. Not only am I close to.... well, everything! But as a teacher I have the term breaks to afford time to travel and am itching to get started.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m a very sociable person who enjoys meeting new people, making new friends, and of course travelling. I believe couch surfing is not only a great way to meet new people, but also a way to experience a place in its authenticity. Locals will always know the best places to go and things to see that are off the beaten path and away from touristy areas - the hidden gems.
Interests
I love both indoor and outdoor activities. I’m very creative so I love to draw, write, read, watch movies, and cook. When I step outside I love exploring and meeting new people, hiking, camping and photography.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a wide range of music, books and movies in a variety of genres.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It would have to be the fact that I packed up my stuff to move to the UK to follow my dreams. Sometimes we don’t realise how strong and brave we are until we step out of everything we know to find something extraordinary.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a teacher, I also happen to have a thirst for discovering new places, seeing new things and experiencing new cultures. When I teach history and geography, nothing can beat being able to share first hand knowledge and personal experiences with the children. I’m driven to continue in my own personal development and when you see a place through someone else’s eyes it inspires others interest. That is the difference between teaching about a place you know about compared to a place you’ve been to.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love conversation and sharing my own experiences and knowledge about places I’ve been to. I also enjoy cooking and would have no problem sharing my favourite dish.
