CURRENT MISSION
Travel, learn, relax, explore
ABOUT ME
I am a native Texan and a recent college graduate (I studied engineering and French and daresay I have forgotten a lot of both). After working for two years, I in a graduate degree program for energy policy and environmental studies. I am very passionate about energy and climate change, and hope to make a positive difference in the world with my career.
As a couchsurfer, I will always be respectful of your home, your time, and your generosity, and I hope others will do the same.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is like riding a bicycle: to keep your balance, you must keep moving. (I think Albert Einstein said it first, but it describes where I'm at in life right now.)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am open to hosting (with the approval of my three roommates) at my home in Ann Arbor, MI.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Pretty rad so far!
Interests
Verbs: Hiking, camping, snowboarding, cycling, exploring, reading, learning, thinking, photographing, fixing stuff, baking cookies. Nouns: Nerd things (Harry Potter, Star Trek, etc.), language, science, technology, energy, cars, bikes, board games.
I like getting outdoors and breathing fresh air, and there are many ways to do this. I have done quite a bit of camping in my life, and some exploring of cities, and always looking to do more. I do like nerdy things, but I am very extroverted so I'll tell you all about them if you'll let me!

Music, Movies, and Books
Pride and Prejuidice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Les Miserables, Lost, Scrubs, Star Trek, St. Vincent, Arcade Fire, Taylor Swift, Yeasayer, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix
The last two books I have read are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. I recommend both. I like movies, but probably won't want to watch [m]any movies during my travels, especially not American movies I could easily watch at home. I'd rather talk to you about life, traveling, science, politics, etc. I do like music, and would love to see some live music while I'm abroad!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Through Engineers without Borders, I helped a community in Panama build a clean water system - what an amazing chance to experience a different culture!
