I try to work and play hard, and like to keep myself busy. I enjoy conversations over a bottle of wine, and challenging stereotypes and preconceptions that exist in our society (not that I am without my own!).

I like to encourage others to accept more risk and spontaneity into their lives. Fear, or hesitancy, often seems to hold us back, and opportunities are missed.

My general philosophy is not to worry or look back. You can spend your entire life planning for the future and never enjoy the moment you're in. Go with the flow and enjoy what happens - age doesn't make life, experiences do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've both surfed and hosted and it's a great way to meet new people. I've also spent a lot of time travelling and on expedition - sometimes.you just can't put a price on a friendly smile, a clean bed and a good shower!

Interests

I'm a keen 'outdoor adventurer' and have been fortunate to travel all over the world through kayaking, caving, climbing, hiking and skiing trips (www.neilcoxmisadventures.co.uk). I've been to some of the most remote regions of this planet, met some amazing people and seen some amazing sights along the way.

I also enjoy the little adventures, and a night out under the stars with a few beers and a campfire is hard to beat.

In my day-to-day life I tend to live and work mostly naked, having built an understanding and acceptance within my local town that allows me to exist undressed, with many local businesses (bars, shops, cafes etc.) allowing me in. I've lots of experience in the outdoors so can show people around the local area or potentially squeeze in some caving, kayaking, mountaineering or climbing elsewhere in the UK. I also do a little bit of salsa for more 'rain-proof' fun.

Good conversation and/or the opportunity to get out walking/kayaking/caving.

I'm also more than happy to cook, but my experience here is more camp craft than cuisine!
