Overview
About Me
My profile hasn't been updated in 5 years. However, I'll bring it all up to 2016 very soon.
I went to Saint Joseph's University, Political Science Major, and also studied abroad in Leuven, Belgium in the fall of 2011. I love Rock & Roll. My favorite bands are AC/DC, Rush, Foster the People, Arcade Fire, The National, HAIM, Walk the Moon, Of Monsters and Men, John Mayer, Billy Joel and Vampire Weekend. I served on 5 community service trips during my 4 years in college. In 2010, I went to Hazard Kentucky and Mobile, Alabama. In 2011, I went to Wheeling, WV and San Diego, CA. Finally in 2013 I spent a week in the Navajo Nation in New Mexico.
I'm also an Eagle Scout.
PHILOSOPHY
LOVE. Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring. -Oscar Wilde
Possibly the biggest influence on my life philosophy is a Podcast named A Quiet Mind. It is a great, GREAT podcast that talks about Life, Desire, Self, and so much more without mentioning ANY particular religion. It's great!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been to Europe 19 times since I was 7. I have an Uncle in Denmark who I've visited several times and then from there, I have traveled to Germany, Poland, Sweeden, England, Italy, Czech Republic, and Iceland. You can ask me about any of the trips as I have plenty of pics and stories from each country.
I also do Weekly Service in Philadelphia for the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness. I go out in an Outreach group where we inform men and women without homes about local shelters and day centers.
As a Political Science major, I have been involved in the political scene in the Philadelphia Region. I worked on Pat Meehan's political campaign for the US House in the Fall of 2010. He eventually won and I was able to gain an Internship at his District Office for the Spring. I interned for College Credit and had to write a 15 page paper on my experience.
When I studied abroad in Belgium during the Fall of 2011, I interned at the EU Parliament for a Czech Republic MEP and also attended classes on EU History, EU Law, EU Politics, and European Art & Culture.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I once hosted a friend who I met at a Summer Seminar in North Carolina on Economics hosted by George Mason's Institute for Humane Studies. He needed a place to stay for a weekend before he had to be at another economics seminar in upstate New York. Since I live on Long Island, I said he could stay at my house as long as he cooked me and my family dinner on Sunday evening. He did and during his stay, he told me about how he often Couch Surfs to get around. He was also a student working on his Masters and often travels across the US. He was the first to introduce me to the idea of Couch Surfing. Once I found out I could do it internationally, I became interested in signing up so I can surf while studying abroad. I will have off Fridays and Monday mornings so I would be able to go away from Leuven on the weekends.
During a weekend while I was studying abroad in Belgium, I stayed with a great guy named Manuel who let me stay in his home, showed me around his town, and invited me to his friends' homes to eat and watch football. He was a great host that had lots to philosophize about and I wish to continue to participate in Couchsurfing.
Interests
Food. I am an avid foodie. I don't cook as much as I'd like but I'm very interested in learning about food and food culture. I read Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential and I absolutely loved it. I am an avid reader of SeriousEats.com which is a foodie's favorite.
I have been playing guitar for about 6 years now and I love to play rock and blues. I know almost every single AC/DC song and a good amount of RUSH.
I like and appreciate Modern Art. Such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, Albers, Cristo, and more.
I love Ping Pong and I even got a Ping pong table installed in our Student Lounge at my University with my influence as a Student Senator.
I was on my High School's Cross Country team my junior and senior year and I was on the Varsity team both years. My best 5K time is 18:16 and I absolutely fell in love with long distance running. Last November, I ran my first marathon in Philadelphia. It was loads of fun and was a high point in my running career.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have read Anthony Bourdain's first two books, and I have also read Blink by Malcolm Gladwell.
I love Jim Carry & Adam Sandler movies. They're always the same character in every movie but I don't care, they're hilarious! lol.
Again, I love Rock & Roll. AC/DC, RUSH, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, The Answer, Airbourne, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend.
I was in a band in High School called The Heard. I played Guitar and we covered several bands. Our singer was a girl so we did some great Paramore covers like CrushCrushCrush, That's What You Get, and When It Rains. We played Crush for our High School's talent show senior year and came in 2nd place. (should have came in 1st, :/)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen the huge waterfalls, Volcanoes, above-ground Mid-Atlantic ridge, and geysers in Iceland. I have been to Auschwitz when I was 9 years old. I have climbed Flat-Top mountain in Alaska. I have walked through Central Park NYC when Cristo's "Gates" were set up. I have seen The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, West Side Story, Kiss Me Kate, The Fantastics, & Jersey Boys on Broadway.
