Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
see more of the country, learn more about myself, meet cool people and learn more about them
eventually buy some land and start a small, cooperative/intentional community of some nature with my friends for a home base while I travel the world
ABOUT ME
I'm typically quiet and reserved. There are some topics that will get me stirring, but I'm likely to clam up until I know you better.
I'm an anarchist queer metal head
Outwardly stoic, inwardly feels, the god-damned feels
Constantly struggling with my natural talent for technology and science while being in love with the natural world and longing for all of us to abandon modern life and rejoin it
I'm from Madison and apparently I have a Midwestern accent. I hear it sometimes. Still mostly in denial though, ya know?
I prefer they/them/their pronouns
PHILOSOPHY
"Live for yourself in such a way that you can live with yourself"
I can talk forever about primitivism being a superior and indefinite way of life versus modern society and the early death capitalism and all of our conveniences are sure to bring us. As well as religion and government keeping us in our place because we are conditioned to misplace authority in those who exploit us.
Of course I say this while using the internet to network with people while driving a car around the country, but as of yet, I am unable (and likely, partially unwilling) to totally detach myself. It's still something I enjoy discussing with anyone that isn't willfully ignorant
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So travelers can arrange a spot to crash in Eugene in advance, and so I can meet cool people and sleep indoors when I want to on the way through Cali/the southwest this fall/winter
Interests
I like metal. All kinds, well except hair "metal". Bro rock and love ballads are not metal.
I love the outdoors and am not a stranger to carrying a hatchet and knife while sleeping under a tarp without much else.
I am also something of a computer nerd and am the unofficial tech support of friends, family, and family of friends, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies
Fight Club, Trainspotting, 12 Monkeys, I d discovered earlier in life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen a black jaguar from less than 10 feet away in Belize. The most beautiful living creature I have ever beheld. (In a zoo, unfortunately)
I did cross paths with a mountain lion from about 10 yards away in the middle of the night while I was walking to camp alone in northern Cali. It was terrifying but really awesome too. We just stared at each other for a while. The cat was chasing some deer I heard crashing through the path ahead of me. I think we were both surprised.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Dog cuddles, cooking skills, cleaning skills and motivation. Intelligent(I think) conversation and a good listener
