About Me

I am a terribly optimistic person who is constantly amazed by the sheer is-ness of things and it is quite usual for me to have many opinions on any single subject.

My mood is mostly permanently good, but my extrovertness varies a lot depending on time of the day, who I'm talking to, when I last had food, whether I have something with alcohol and sugar in my hand (wink, buy me a cocktail, wink).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like couchsurfers. Fry them in sesame oil and add some cumin, salt and pepper. Delicious.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS:
Musashi, Siddharta, One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Trial, On The Road, 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance', 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', 'A Song of Ice and Fire', and many more.

MUSIC
A lot, but also there's a lot of music I dislike (mostly cheesy pop). I love Jazz and Blues, 60s, 70s, Alternative Rock, Trip Hop, Post Rock, Afrobeat, Indie, Modern Folk and Singer-Songwriters, and really whatever is good.

MOVIES
Monty Python, Naked Gun, Akira Kurosawa, Tarantino, David Lynch, Scorsese, Nolan, Charlie Kaufman, Spike Jonze, Oldboy, Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Spaceballs, Ghibli, La Haine.

SHOWS
Scrubs, Malcolm in the Middle, Community, Game of Thrones, Avatar, Sherlock, South Park, Family Guy, Drawn Together, Golden Boy, Rick and Morty, Mr Robot, Adventure Time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycled through the Japanese mountains and my tire went flat and I stayed in an ancient house between rice fields with paper walls and a thatched roof in the middle of nowhere with a little shrine next to it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like talking about world views, experience, travels, literature, movies, cultures, philosophy, fart jokes etc. I speak English, German, French and some Japanese, Chinese and Spanish. Of course I can insult your mom in Portuguese. If you're a beginner, I can show you how to play the guitar. I'm also an enthusiastic hobby chef, so we can cook together. I'm always happy to learn new stuff.

Oh and I can make a scary face so that you will never be able to sleep again. Well, at least it works on my sister.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Gibraltar, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, Viet Nam
