About Me
We quit our careers in the corporate world to work a little less and live a little more :)
Craig is Canadian and Alex is Brazilian, we've been together for 14 years (!!) and decided to move into an old VW van. We've been on the road since July 3, 2016 and it has been the best decision! We've driven over 50,000km and...explored all the places, ate all the foods, danced all the dances, pet all the animals, met all the people and we're looking forward to experiencing many more cultures.
We love to get to know people, pets and places. We're extremely organized and clean (you should see our van). And we believe in treating others and their places, as you'd like to be treated.
We'd love to get to know you. For a little more about us, you can check us out on Instagram: @slowlaneadventures
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people, share stories and have a few laughs. We've been able to learn so much about the local culture and amazing places to visit from the people we meet along the way, and we hope to continue doing that.
Since we have a van, we would need a place to park it and would happily sleep in the van - it would just be great to share a bathroom :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Love most types of music but we have a soft spot for 90's hip hop and soul, and indie.
Have been reading a lot of roadtrip books - Travels with Charley, On the Road, The Road etc.
Watch all types of movies from classics like Clockwork Orange, comedies like Big Lebowski and Old School, and some great ones from last year like Moonlight and La La Land. Also, the movie Captain Fantastic is a must see.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quitting our comfortable lives and doing something totally foreign has definitely been amazing. But...having a chance to visit "The Wave", explore the desert around it and sleep under the stars out there was pure magic.
Teach, Learn, Share
We could teach: how to live in a van, how to speak English, how to make delicious Lebanese rice, how to play a Brazilian card game called "buraco" (translation: hole)
We'd like to learn: how to speak better Spanish, how to play the ukulele, how quantum physics really works, how to make more local dishes...the possibilities are endless!
We like to share: experiences, laughs and adventures
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully some good conversation over a beer or glass of wine. Also we're always willing to help out with meals, tidying up or whatever house chores need to get done!
